Jerry Jones revealed Cowboys’ top 34 players in NFL draft; were any Buffalo Bills on list?

How ‘bout them Cowboys revealing their draft board once again?

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones claimed that their first round pick, Tulsa OL Tyler Smith, was graded higher than Zion Johnson and Kenyon Green, prospects who were off the board before Dallas’ pick. To prove his point, Jones held up a card with the team’s big board on it for all of the media to see.

In the words of Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman, “Big mistake. Big. Huge!”

Internet sleuths were able to use screenshots and wasted no time enhancing the image. When all was said and done, The Athletic posted what appeared to be Dallas’ top 34 players in the draft.

As it turns out, Jones was not lying about Smith. The team had the Tulsa lineman at No. 16 while Green (No. 20) and Johnson (No. 22) were behind him on the big board. Interestingly enough, all three prospects had second round grades as Dallas revealed that they only had 14 players with a first round grade.

Did Dallas’ list have any Buffalo Bills draft picks among their top 34 players in the draft?

Buffalo’s first round pick, Kaiir Elam, came in at No. 29 on Dallas’ list. Although the Cowboys had a second round grade on Elam, Buffalo revealed that he was the final prospect on their big board with a first round grade.

Little actual harm came from Jones holding up the draft card, but his opportunity to give fans an opportunity to see how they viewed this year’s class did not go to waste.
