A DEDICATED follower of thrift fashion has discovered the allure of Paris flea markets.
They are, she said, on another level when it comes to designer labels.
There was almost too much choice and she was blown away when she discovered shoes for $30.
“They are coming home with me,” she said.
The fashion capital of the world is known for its fabled haute couture.
But for those with tight budgets, the flea market is where it’s all at.
Sydnee Zora (@sydneezora) is a newcomer to this particular Paris attraction.
“Flea markets in Paris, this is what thrifting heaven looks like. They are on another level,” she said in her post.
This was one thrift shopping expedition she was not going to forget.
“This one experience spoiled me so much,” she said.
“I feel like I’m never going to look at thrifting the same way again.”
With a few spare hours before heading for the airport, she dropped in on one of the capital’s many flea markets.
Sydnee was stunned by the number of designer labels she found.
There was Gucci, Dolce & Gabban, Moschino and YSL.
But the prices were not as cheap as she would have expected.
“It was interesting because the prices varied a lot,” she wrote.
“I expected everything to be cheap but it was wider ranging,” she said.
“You can get a good piece of clothing for $1, but some of the nicer fur coats were going for between $55 and $110.”
But she found something that was going in her luggage.
“The designer selection here blew my mind. These Dolce & Gabbana kitten heels came home with me by the way.
“They were my size. It was meant to be. I think I paid $30 for them.”
This was one Paris tourist attraction she would be coming back to.
“Honestly I think I could have spent the whole day at this one market,” she said.
Commenters were green with envy and wanted to get over there pronto.
“So I need to bring empty luggage,” said one person.
“I can’t even watch this, it’s painful. It’s too good,” said another.
“The Gucci and Dior shoes literally made me gasp,” gushed a third person.
But there was some insider knowledge for any future flea market shoppers.
“Paris markets are unmatched. Monmarté just on the outskirts of Paris is absolutely amazing for reasonably priced vintage,” said another veteran flea market fan.
