India’s benchmark indices are expected to open higher on Thursday, mirroring global equity trends, after U.S. President Donald Trump’s temporary suspension of tariffs on automobile imports from Mexico and Canada.
As of 07:50 a.m. IST, GIFT Nifty futures were trading at 22,461, suggesting that the Nifty 50 will likely open above Wednesday’s close of 22,337.30.
The White House mentioned that President Trump is open to discussing other products that could be exempt from the tariffs, which were implemented on Tuesday.
