The EFL scheme, which recognises clubs for creating positive matchday experiences for families and young fans, saw the Bantams finish ninth out of 24 Sky Bet League One teams and 19th overall in the EFL for the 2025/26 season.
Clubs are assessed through two matchday visits during the season, with Bradford City achieving an overall score of 8.7 out of 10.
Liam Mould, the club’s fan engagement officer said: “I am thrilled how everyone at the club has all worked together to retain gold status in the EFL’s Family Excellence scheme at the first time of asking.
“It was a special moment for us all, achieving gold for the second year running is notoriously difficult to do.
“We have all worked so hard in building a unique and enjoyable experience at the University of Bradford Stadium – across the club’s office staff, our caterers and the Bradford City Community Foundation.
“Having new families click through the turnstiles every matchday, and leave with smiles on their faces is what we aim for every time we play at home.
“The blueprint is there to maintain our gold status by constantly improving, adapting and evolving while also keeping supporters engaged and ensuring they keep coming to Valley Parade – a place where memories are made.”
The club earned full marks for its social media and website during the assessor’s second visit, with improvements noted in ticket purchasing, post-match experience, and making fans feel valued.
On the first visit, the club scored 8 out of 10, which improved to 9 on the second visit.
Family-friendly initiatives included murals in the Morrisons Family Stand, activities in Billy’s Coop, and the introduction of Billy’s Swap Shop for EFL Panini stickers.
Support was also provided for first-time visitors.
The club’s Community Foundation contributed through the City Hub Café and the Bantams Clubhouse at BEAP.
EFL chief executive officer Trevor Birch said: “We are incredibly proud to see clubs excelling in the EFL’s Family Excellence Scheme this season.
“Their success reflects their dedication to creating welcoming, inclusive, and enjoyable matchday experiences for families across the country.”
