ANZ and NAB are among lenders bankrolling the $1.85 trillion private capital juggernaut Blackstone’s record-setting acquisition of HSBC Australia’s $36 billion book of home and personal loans.
Street Talk can reveal Blackstone has lined up $30 billion-plus in senior debt to pay what is the largest-ever sale of a bank’s mortgage book globally to a credit fund. ANZ and NAB are joined in the debt stack by BNP Paribas, Natixis, Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, RBC Capital Markets and Standard Chartered, sources said on Sunday.
