The council’s Income & Awards Money Advice Team have received top status for their support to residents with welfare benefits and financial wellbeing.
The team have been awarded the Recognising Excellence Advice Quality Standard (AQS) accreditation.
The accreditation follows a rigorous application and assessment process that took place over ten months. The achievement reflects the team’s commitment to delivering high-quality, accessible, and effective advice to residents across Powys.
Councillor Matthew Dorrance, Deputy Leader of Powys County Council said “The award is a testament to the dedication and professionalism of the Income & Awards Money Advice Team, and their ongoing work to support residents facing financial challenges and to maximise household income.
“The team helped nearly 1,500 people last year, bringing almost £3 million into the pockets of Powys residents. This accreditation is a well-deserved recognition of the difference they make to residents across Powys every day.”
