A driver was taken to hospital after a car burst into flames on a roundabout in Fife.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were alerted to the incident at New Inn roundabout on the A92 at around 2pm on Saturday, May 18.




The car, thought to be a Fiat 500, was already on fire when crews arrived.

The driver was taken to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy and received treatment for minor injuries.

A photograph from the scene shows the vehicle enveloped by flames inside bushes on the roundabout as smoke billows into the sky.

A second image shows the burnt out vehicle abandoned at the side of the road.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to an incident on the A92 at the New Inn roundabout, just north of Balfarg. at 2:12pm on Saturday, May 18.

“The car was well alight when officers arrived and the fire was extinguished using one hose reel jet.
