Prominent analyst Doctor Profit on Thursday declared Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) being in the early stage of a bull market and set $82,000 as the target that fully confirms the shift.
What Doctor Profit Said About the Market Shift
Doctor Profit posted on X that Bitcoin crushed four to five entire bear market resistance zones in a single day, including the Bear Market Resistance Bands he had long predicted would eventually break.
He called the bear market over and said the market is now transitioning into what he describes as a soft bull market.
He laid out three resistance zones that still need to flip before the bull market is fully confirmed:
- $71,500 — must flip either by trading significantly above it or posting a weekly close above it
- $78,000 — same condition applies
- $82,000 — once this flips, the road to a full bull market is open

“I am confident we will reach those targets in the coming weeks,” Doctor Profit wrote, adding that the last two days showed why the timeline could move faster than expected.
He also congratulated followers who accumulated with him in recent weeks and those who closed shorts from $120,000 at $60,000 last month, calling Wednesday’s liquidation event the largest for bears in history.
Why Does the BTC Golden Cross Matters Now
Bitcoin is approaching a golden cross, a widely watched technical signal where the 50-day simple moving average crosses above the 200-day simple moving average, according to CoinDesk.
The 50-day SMA currently sits at $63,976 while the 200-day SMA stands at $69,005, with Bitcoin now trading above both at $71,936.
Bitcoin had traded below its 200-day SMA since November 2025. A sustained move above it historically signals a shift from bear to bull market conditions.
What Two Key On-Chain Signals are Saying
CryptoQuant flagged on X that Bitcoin just recorded its largest profit-side UTXO movement ever on Binance, meaning trapped buyers who held through the bear market finally have a chance to exit at a profit.
Analyst MorenoDV noted this is happening right at the level where those buyers were stuck.
Meanwhile, analyst CryptoGoos posted on X that Bitcoin just broke above the Short-Term Holder Realized Price, a level that historically separates bear and bull market regimes.
Short-term holders are now aggressively taking profits into the move. Two consecutive weekly closes above this level would confirm the start of a new bull market.
A failure to hold it would mirror the 2018 pattern, where a similar breakout faded and price made one final leg lower before recovering.
