PLANS to transform a house in a Warrington village into a commercial property have been approved by the council.
The property, 56 Walton Road in Stockton Heath, is a two-storey terraced building which is currently in residential use.
Plans to change the use of the house into a commercial property were submitted to Warrington Borough Council in March.
Floor plans submitted as part of the application show that the building would include a kitchen, bathroom and four rooms for small-scale business use.
The application states that the change of use ‘addresses the demand for small-scale commercial accommodation in accessible, edge-of-centre locations’.
“The proposed change to commercial use is in keeping with the majority of adjacent properties within the same terrace run,” it states.
“All other properties within this terrace are noted being used for commercial purposes by a range of organisations over past years.
“The sites proximity to the Stockton Heath District Centre makes it well suited to commercial use, supporting the vitality and viability of local services and the wider economy.”
Plans have now been approved by Warrington Borough Council, with development of the site to commence within three years.
