Stockholm, May 4, 2026 – Telenor IoT today announced that Axentia, a leading provider of battery and solar-powered display systems for public transport, has become the first customer to receive and commercially deploy a standardized SGP.32 solution from Telenor IoT, including both SIM cards and remote SIM provisioning capabilities, marking an important milestone in next-generation IoT connectivity.
Axentia delivers IoT-enabled display solutions that provide realtime passenger information in public transport environments. Deployed across multiple markets and using a design with no external cabling, these solutions require highly reliable, scalable and flexible cellular connectivity to ensure long device lifetimes and cost-efficient operations.
To meet growing customer demands and ensure their devices stay connected long-term, Axentia has adopted a new industry standard for SIM management called SGP.32. This technology allows them to manage and update SIM cards remotely, which is essential for devices that remain in the field for many years.
By following this standardized approach, Axentia avoids being tied to a single provider, giving them the freedom to switch or adapt their connectivity at any point during a product’s lifespan. Through their partnership with Telenor IoT, Axentia combines this flexibility with a reliable network, ensuring their devices stay online and operate smoothly across different global markets.
“Axentia operates in a market where flexible and modern connectivity is no longer optional,” says Frithjof Qvigstad, CTO at Axentia. “By being an early adopter of SGP.32, Axentia is positioning itself to meet future customer demands with a standardized, scalable solution.”
Telenor IoT and Axentia have worked together since 2021, building a longterm partnership centered on innovation, sustainability and future-ready connectivity. The delivery of SGP.32 SIM cards represents the next step in this collaboration.
