A Destiny 2 fan has based their guardian on the Silver Surfer after getting their hands on the game’s new Skimmer hoverboard. The hoverboards are the latest class of vehicles within Destiny 2 that gives gamers the ability to pull off stunts as they explore each of the planets within the solar system.
Bungie recently added Skimmers to the game with its latest 7.3.5 update, and they can be unlocked by completing missions as part of the annual Guardian Games in Destiny 2. As gamers are already starting to get a handle on the new mode of transport, one player has already decided to redesign their guardian in the style of a popular character from the Marvel Universe.
Destiny 2’s New Gjallarhorn Armor Set Should Spark a Chain Reaction
Destiny 2’s new Gjallarheart gear set should start a new trend in Destiny 2’s Eververse ornaments by adapting other exotic weapons into armor sets.
A Reddit user going by J-Altman044 has posted their Silver Surfer-inspired guardian to the r/DestinyFashion subreddit. The build showcases the Hunter-class warrior adorned in full silver-colored body armor and a silver helmet that covers the player’s face. The Silver Surfer look is completed with the brand-new Skimmer and a clever use of color shaders to unify the entire outfit.
A Destiny 2 Fan Creates The Silver Surfer In-Game
Players are certainly impressed with J-Altman044’s creation, as some have been asking about how to recreate the look for themselves. The OP has yet to comment on how the build was created, however, one eagle-eyed fan notes the Hunter armor is made up of a Couturier Mask, Raiju’s Harness, Luxe Sleeves, and the Dendrite Shimmer Strides. It is worth noting that there are hundreds of different armor pieces within Destiny 2, with many being rotated every week thanks to Destiny 2’s traveling merchant Xur. As a result, gamers will have to experiment with their wardrobe if they don’t have the exact same armor but still want to recreate the Silver Surfer for themselves.
Thanks to J-Altman044’s Silver Surfer creation, some fans are naturally wondering if an official crossover with Marvel could happen. Bungie is no stranger to teaming up with other companies, as The Witcher and Mass Effect franchises have already represented in the first-person shooter, and even the Ghostbusters series could soon see a Destiny 2 crossover, so it is not outside the realm of possibility.
For now, players are continuing to find fun ways to interact with Destiny 2’s new hoverboard, pushing the boundaries of what can be done in the game using the vehicle. For example, one gamer has already uploaded a video showing that they have managed to break out of bounds in the Deep Stone Crypt, with others testing the limits on well-established Sparrow routes. This may lead to future patches from Bungie later down the line so that Skimmers don’t break the game, but for now, the community is having a blast with the new addition.
