SEC Deputy Director of Enforcement Jason Burt Concludes Tenure
The Securities and Exchange Commission announced Thursday that Deputy Director of the Division of Enforcement Jason Burt departed the agency after more than 22 years of public service. An SEC spokesperson wrote in an email to PLANSPONSOR that a replacement for Burt has not been named.
Burt’s departure follows the SEC’s April 8 announcement that securities lawyer David Woodcock will replace Margaret Ryan as the regulator’s next director of the Division of Enforcement, effective May 4.
Burt began his SEC career as an attorney adviser in the Division of Examinations and continued as an investigative attorney within the division. He served as regional director of the Denver regional office from October 2022 through April 2025, when he was appointed to deputy director.
Cliffwater Names Sean Murray Head of Retirement Solutions
Alternative asset advisory services and investment provider firm Cliffwater LLC named Sean Murray as head of retirement solutions. Murray will lead an expansion of the firm’s dedicated retirement channel capabilities.
Murray brings more than 30 years of experience in the retirement industry, most recently as head of strategic partnerships workplace solutions at Goldman Sachs. Earlier in his career, he held senior leadership roles at PIMCO, BlackRock and Envestnet.
Greg Jenkins Joins GSAM Institutional DC Team
Greg Jenkins, a former managing director of defined contribution solutions at Invesco, joined Goldman Sachs Asset Management as a managing director on its institutional DC team, a spokesperson from GSAM confirmed to PLANSPONSOR.
“Greg brings over 25 yrs of DC experience, most recently leading the institutional efforts at Invesco,” wrote Greg Wilson, global head of retirement, in an email to PLANSPONSOR. “We are thrilled to have him on board to support our existing clients and expand our presence focusing on the western part of the country.”
