Boston Police have arrested a 27-year-old man on charges of possessing 124 forged debit cards.
The department says it also seized an “undisclosed amount” of cash inside a vehicle that officers pulled over in Brighton on Tuesday, in the area of Harvard Avenue and Brainerd Road.
Officers pulled the vehicle over after it failed to stop at a red light, and they reportedly recognized the operator, Nicusor Lazar, who was wanted in connection with an ongoing ATM card fraud investigation.
“Officers approached the vehicle and the operator provided an Italian driver’s license and a bank card with the same name,” the BPD said in a release. “As officers were speaking with the operator, they observed a large stack of US currency bundled together in the center console as well as numerous credit/ debit cards in the cup holder.”
Investigators determined that the Italian driver’s license and bank card were fraudulent.
Lazar did not possess a valid license to operate a motor vehicle within the U.S.
Lazar was expected to be arraigned in Brighton District Court on charges of Money Laundering, two counts of Uttering, Identity Fraud, Forgery of an RMV Document, and Furnishing a False ID to Law Enforcement.

Home invasion
A West Roxbury judge has released a Roslindale teenager who allegedly vandalized property and unleashed other violence at her ex-boyfriend’s home.
Boston Municipal Judge Maureen Flaherty released Alyssah Harrison, 19, on personal recognizance and ordered her to stay away from the victims, witnesses and home.
Harrison, charged with home invasion, assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and malicious destruction of property, is set to return to court for a pretrial hearing on Oct. 2.
The rampage unfolded on July 22 when Harrison allegedly broke the glass screen of her ex-boyfriend’s front door in Roslindale with an aluminum baseball bat, according to a report that the victim provided to BPD.
The victim alleged that Harrison entered his home, pushed his wife and then punched her in the face, threatening them both with the bat.
“Harrison then ran up the stairs into a bedroom on the second floor and began opening drawers and the closet, as if looking for something,” the Suffolk DA’s office said in a release. “The male victim left the home to contact property security, and the female victim followed Harrison upstairs, where she attempted to physically remove Harrison from the room, resulting in a fight.”
Harrison then allegedly fled the home.
“It’s not hard to imagine the fear these homeowners must have experienced when their peaceful day at home was suddenly turned chaotic and violent due by an armed intruder,” DA Kevin Hayden said in a statement. “Our victim witness advocates are trained in trauma and acquaintance violence scenarios and will provide all the support these victims require as the case moves forward.”
Moped sweep
A targeted enforcement operation in Dorchester and Roxbury seized 31 mopeds, with officers issuing summonses for 12 individuals.
Officers and detectives in Roxbury partnered with members of the BPD’s auto theft unit to crack down on the mopeds that reportedly violated auto laws in the areas of Blue Hill Avenue and Warren Street.
“The initiative was organized in response to ongoing public safety concerns regarding the use of these vehicles in the Dorchester and Roxbury neighborhoods,” the department said in a release.
“The Boston Police Department remains committed to improving traffic safety,” it added, “and will continue to conduct enforcement operations across the city.”
Incident Summary
The BPD responded to 311 incidents in the 24-hour period ending at 10 a.m. Wednesday, according to the department’s incident log. Those included one robbery, three aggravated assaults, one commercial burglary, one residential burglary, one larceny from a vehicle, two auto thefts, and 25 instances of miscellaneous larceny.
