Travellers can now earn cashback on international spends across leading global brands
As Indian travellers increasingly embrace digital and contactless payments while travelling abroad, Thomas Cook (India) Limited has launched an industry-first rewards programme for its forex card customers, offering cashback benefits on overseas spending across a range of global brands.
The initiative is aimed at encouraging international travellers to use prepaid forex cards for everyday purchases such as transportation, dining, shopping and lifestyle experiences instead of relying on cash withdrawals.
Under the programme, customers using Thomas Cook India’s Forex Cards can earn 10% rewards-back on eligible spends made through POS terminals, contactless payments and e-commerce transactions at participating merchants including Starbucks, McDonald’s, KFC, Burger King, Grab, Careem and 7-Eleven. Rewards will be provided in the form of Amazon vouchers, subject to qualifying spending thresholds and programme terms.
The company believes the initiative will accelerate the adoption of secure, digital-first payment solutions among Indian outbound travellers while enhancing the overall value proposition of prepaid forex cards.
The rewards programme is available across Thomas Cook India’s Visa and Mastercard Forex Cards and complements existing benefits such as multi-currency support, worldwide acceptance and integration with digital payment platforms including Google Pay.
Commenting on the launch, Deepesh Varma, Chief Business Officer – Foreign Exchange, Thomas Cook (India) Limited, said that international travellers increasingly expect payment solutions that are convenient, secure and rewarding. He noted that the new programme has been designed to encourage greater usage of forex cards for day-to-day overseas purchases while reducing dependence on cash transactions.
The launch comes at a time when outbound travel from India continues to grow steadily, with travellers seeking seamless payment options that combine security, convenience and additional benefits while exploring destinations around the world.
With the recent expansion of its Borderless Travel Card portfolio to support 28 currencies, Thomas Cook India is further strengthening its position in the foreign exchange and travel payments segment while responding to the evolving needs of modern international travellers.
