One fire engine was called to the blaze on the B4399 Rotherwas Relief Road, near the junction of the A49, shortly after 7pm on Sunday (February 18). 

A Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS) spokesperson said: “A car was well alight and extinguished by one firefighter wearing breathing apparatus and using a hose reel jet.

“One carriageway was blocked. There were no casualties and no other emergency services attended.

“The incident was marked as pending closure at 7.51pm.”

Meanwhile, a HWFRS crew from Kington was called to the town’s Recreation Ground shortly after 8am on the same day.

A small fire in the open was extinguished using backpacks and small tools. The HWFRS spokesperson confirmed that no other emergency services attended and no one was injured during the incident

The fire service left the scene at around 8.35am.
