Emergency services descended on a country road in Oldham following a crash.

Firefighters were called to the collision involving a motorbike and a car in Buckstones Road, Shaw, shortly before 5pm today (Friday).




Eyewitnesses also reported seeing police cars and an ambulance at the scene, near to the Black Ladd pub. Fire crews gave first aid to the driver of the car at the scene.

The extent of their injuries has not been revealed.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “At just before 5pm today (Friday March 8) one fire engine from Oldham fire station attended reports of a collision between a motorbike and a car on Buckstones Road, Shaw. Firefighters helped administer first aid to the driver of the car before handing them to the care of colleagues from North West Ambulance Service. Crews made the scene safe and were in attendance for around 50 minutes.”

Greater Manchester Police declined to provide information about the incident.
