The two companies partnered to begin their expansion plans in 2023, and have since launched seven Electric Super Hubs across the UK.

The new development at Strensham North features three of the world’s fastest chargers, which will facilitate six vehicles to charge simultaneously.

Paul Comer, director of EV implementation at Roadchef, said: “At Roadchef, we are committed to supporting Britain’s journey to become safer and greener, which is why we have rolled out another Electric Super Hub at Strensham North.

“As more people travel on the roads using EV’s, it is vital to expand our facilities, enabling us to deliver rapid high-charging facilities across our MSA’s.”

All GRIDSERVE Electric Super Hubs feature CCS connectors, accept contactless payment, and offer real-time status updates to popular EV charging maps.

The chargers draw power from 100 per cent net zero carbon energy, underscoring GRIDSERVE’s ambition to influence change on climate issues.

Toddington Harper, CEO of GRIDSERVE, said: “GRIDSERVE is working at speed and scale with Roadchef to ensure EV drivers can find reliable and convenient charging across the UK’s motorways.

“We are proud to open another Electric Super Hub with Roadchef as we strive to give more drivers the confidence to go electric and make a meaningful step in journey to decarbonising transport.

“We look forward to opening more Electric Super Hubs at Roadchef locations soon.”

To date, Roadchef operates over 50 high power chargers, over 40 GRIDSERVE medium power chargers, and 24 standalone AC chargers across 29 sites.

The further expansion of EV charging facilities will continue in 2024.
