Grange Travel of Gravesend has taken delivery of a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter with coachbuilt Grand Tourer bodywork, supplied by EVM.
It has 16 seats and a courier’s position, all of which are fitted with three-point belts and a cushioned leather finish that incorporates diamond pattern stitching. Seats are largely arranged around four tables, while overhead are deep luggage racks with passenger service units on the undersides.
Panoramic double-glazed side windows are included, and the windscreen is also a panoramic type. Other elements of the specification include a PA system, a reversing camera, and an Indel fridge under the dash.
At the back of the vehicle is a coach-style rear with a vertically rising boot door. It can be operated from the dash or from a remote button within the luggage storage area, which delivers a 2.8 cubic metre capacity. Further space is in twin side lockers.
On the roof is a 15.5kW Webasto air-conditioning unit. Convector heaters are fitted in the full length of the saloon, and the base Sprinter was built with an in-dash air-conditioner with an auxiliary water heater.
Trademark EVM body kit is fitted to the Grange Travel minicoach, including a bumper spoiler with daytime running lights and colour-coded bumpers, side mouldings and skirts, and grille, all of which is complemented by a chrome package.
Power comes from the OM 654 engine producing 190bhp driving through a 9G-Tronic nine-speed automatic gearbox.
