JAKARTA – The Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2024 exhibition only lasts three days. This exhibition shows a variety of vehicles that meet a number of hall at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, including this time starting to fill a lot of electric vehicle segments (EVs).

Starting from the many EVs at the IIMS 2024 exhibition, it seems as if representing the current transition of the automotive industry which is undergoing a shift to electrification and becoming a stage for several manufacturers to introduce advanced technology in their latest EVs.

Interestingly, several electric vehicles made official debuts and were available for purchase during the event. The following are EVs that attracted the attention of the visitors the most during IIMS 2024 according to VOI monitoring:

With a five-door sedan style, BYD Seal competed with Hyundai Ioniq 6 and managed to steal the show. The exterior is equipped with a headlights featuring a unique double light cluster to create a balance and sharp impression. The back lights are arranged in a point matrix that spreads throughout the back.

This Chinese car has an impressive performance with electric motors that allow acceleration from 0 to 100 km/hour in 3.8 seconds. BYD Seal also has a battery with a range of up to 650 km in full battery condition.

The price of this model ranges from Rp629 million for the Premium Variant type and Rp719 million for the Performance Variant type, based on the recommendations of On The Road DKI Jakarta.

BMW Group Indonesia took part in IIMS 2024 with BMW iX1 eDrive20 M Sport, as part of the electrification model line. Based on its combustion engine version, X1, iX1 has a striking chrome strip as the main difference. According to the company, this Sport Active Vehicle (SAV) offers EV models at a more affordable price compared to other zero emission products.

As an entry-level variant, iX1 eDrive20 M Sport uses the fifth generation of eDrive drivers along with electric motors that produce 204 dk of power and instant torques of up to 250 Nm, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/hour in 8.6 seconds.

The battery has a configuration of up to 64.78 kWh, allowing for a distance of up to 474 km according to WLTP calculations. This vehicle can charge from 10 to 80 percent in 29 minutes with fast charging.

BMW iX1 eDrive20 M Sport is sold for IDR 1.4 billion Off The Road DKI Jakarta.

Morris Garage (MG) has again hit the Indonesian automotive industry by launching ZS EV, one of the environmentally friendly products produced in Indonesia. As a medium-sized SUV, ZS EV dimension is 4,323 mm long, 1,809 mm wide, 1,649 mm high, with a wheelbase of up to 2,585 mm.

In addition to its utility, MG ZS EV offers a strong performance with a 177 ps electric motor and a 280 Nm torque that drives the front wheels. The battery has a capacity of up to 50.3 kWh lithium-ion, providing a distance of up to 403 km.

The price starts from Rp453 million On The Road DKI Jakarta, competing with various other models including the Chery Omoda E5.

Joining MG ZS EV, Chery also introduced the locally assembled Omoda E5, offering competitive competition in the electric car market below the price of IDR 500 million. With an SUV style, Omoda E5 has the same base as its internal combustion engine version, Omoda 5, with a closed front grip featuring the ‘Omode’ emblem gracefully.

Omoda E5 is equipped with a 204 ps electric motor and a 340 Nm torque that drives the front wheels. LFP batteries with a capacity of 61 kWh provide a range of up to 430 km in one charge.

The price of the Chery Omoda E5 starts at Rp498.8 million OTR Jakarta, with a special price of Rp488.8 million for the first 2,000 buyers.

Mitsubishi also participated in the competition for electric cars in Indonesia by presenting the L100 EV, which is based on the kei car of a commercial vehicle based on the Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV). Produced locally at the Cikarang factory, Bekasi, West Java, L100 EV is the first production of Mitsubishi outside Japan.

With electric motors that produce torques up to 195 Nm, L100 EV maintains the driving performance of electric vehicles, even though they are used for commercial activities that contain many luggage.

The distance has been extended to 180 km (in WLTC2 mode) in one charge. Normal charging time from 10 to 80 percent takes 7.5 hours on AC200V (15A), while fast charging up to 80 percent only takes about 42 minutes.

Mitsubishi L100 EV comes in one variant, namely two-seater blind van, at a price of Rp320 million on the road Jakarta, as a special price during the February-April 2024 period.
