It has been another strong quarter for the Charity Finance 250 Index, with over 80% of the charities with financial year-ends falling in the first quarter of 2023 posting income rises, many of them in double – and occasionally triple digits.

The top performer in the period under review is the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF), which reported a 361% increase in income to £155.3m in the year to 31 March 2023. The increase results from a £137m endowment grant from the Department for Education (DfE).
