Sumer, a mid-market accountancy practice in the UK and Ireland, has appointed two co‑heads to oversee its tax services across the UK.
Lisa Wilson and Jason Fayers will assume the new roles from this month.
Wilson is a partner and head of tax at Sumer company Cowgills, while Fayers serves as managing partner at the company’s regional hub Scrutton Bland.
Wilson and Fayers are described by the group as “long‑standing leaders” within their respective practices, with experience in advising smaller and medium‑sized enterprises (SMEs) and leading tax teams.
The appointments are aimed at broadening support for Sumer’s reported base of around 60,000 SME clients.
Both have held senior roles within Sumer group companies for many years and are experienced in SME tax advice and leading tax teams.
Wilson said: “I am incredibly proud to take on this role. We have fantastic talent across Sumer, and by working more closely together we can deliver even more value to our clients.”
The company said the new structure is intended to make it simpler for clients to access the group’s full tax capability.
In the coming months, the two co‑heads are expected to work with tax leaders across the group to coordinate and develop services in areas including value‑added tax, corporate tax, private client advisory, innovation taxes, and broader tax compliance and advisory work.
Fayers said: “Stepping into this role at such an exciting time for Sumer is a real privilege. Our priority is to give clients clear, practical advice to help them make confident decisions and achieve their ambitions.”
In February this year, Sumer Northern Ireland announced promotions across its innovation tax relief and forensic accounting functions.
“Sumer appoints two joint national tax heads” was originally created and published by International Accounting Bulletin, a GlobalData owned brand.
