Cowry Treasurers Limited, a subsidiary of Cowry Asset Management Limited, has announced that its Cowry Equity Fund ranked among Nigeria’s 10 best-performing equity mutual funds in the first half of 2026, posting a 51.27 per cent year-to-date return as of June.
The performance placed the fund sixth nationally, reflecting strong gains in the country’s equities market during the period.
According to the company, the ranking underscores the effectiveness of its investment strategy and portfolio management approach amid improving investor confidence in the Nigerian capital market.
Launched in August 2022, the Cowry Equity Fund is designed to provide investors with long-term capital appreciation through investments in carefully selected Nigerian equities.
Managing Director of Cowry Treasurers Limited, Charles Sanni, attributed the milestone to the firm’s disciplined investment process and the commitment of its investment team.
“This performance reflects the dedication of our investment team and our disciplined investment process, which has continued to engender confidence among our customers in our ability and commitment to meet their investment objectives. At Cowry, our focus has always been on creating sustainable wealth through prudent investment decisions and long-term value creation,” he said.
The company said the fund’s strong showing came as Nigeria’s stock market experienced renewed momentum, driven by stronger corporate earnings, improving macroeconomic indicators and increased participation by both retail and institutional investors.
Cowry Treasurers noted that it would continue to strengthen its range of investment products to meet the changing needs of investors while maintaining its focus on long-term wealth creation.
The latest ranking adds to the firm’s growing profile in Nigeria’s asset management industry as competition among fund managers intensifies amid rising investor appetite for equity-based investment products.
