The mass signing of 62,000 subsidized mortgages and housing People’s Business Credit (KUR) worth Rp880 billion at the Puri Delta City Side Housing Complex in Batang regency, Central Java province, on Thursday (7/30), marked an important momentum for thousands of people to pursue their dreams of owning a home or growing a business.
Behind the event, which was attended by President Prabowo Subianto, were stories of beneficiaries who gained easier access to financing and a renewed sense of hope for their lives.
Kudung Slamet, a domestic worker, will own his own house for the first time after previously living with his extended family. Thanks to the Housing Financing Liquidity Facility (FLPP) program, he will soon be able to move into the house he has long dreamed of.
“I’m beyond happy. The process was very easy and it did not take long. It was very simple and only took three weeks,” he said.
The subsidized house he chose, he said, is of good quality, with two bedrooms, a living room, a bathroom, and reliable access to water and electricity.
The location is also comfortable to live in, and he expressed his appreciation to President Prabowo Subianto for a program that makes it easier for people to obtain affordable housing.
“Thank You, Pak Prabowo, for the program that has allowed me to have my own house. Thank you very much. I hope this subsidized housing program will continue,” he said.
Nilam Cahya Ayu, a production operator at the Batang Integrated Industrial Estate, shared a similar story. At just 20 years old, she chose to buy a house as a long-term investment and as the first step toward building a more independent life.
“The process was easy and fast, with simple requirements of an employment certificate, an ID card (KTP), and a family card (KK),” said Nilam.
She previously lived with her parents, ad she said that owning a house at a young age is an achievement that would be difficult to reach without an affordable financing program.
“Thank you, Mr. President, for the FLPP program. Now, I have a home,” she said.
For Rahma Yuliani, a female security guard, owning a house before marriage was a personal goal that she was finally able to achieve through the FLPP program.
She added she was drawn to the house’s modern design and the well-maintained neighborhood, noting that facilities such as playgrounds, street lighting, security systems, and plans for an Early Childhood Education (PAUD) center add significant values to the area.
“I thank President Prabowo Subianto for launching a subsidized housing program for us Gen Z. It is a great privilege for those earning the minimum wage (UMR) to be able to afford their own house,” she said.
Meanwhile, Nur Suciana, a kindergarten teacher, said the FLPP program has helped her realize her dream of owning her own home after years of living with her in-laws. She shared that the monthly installment of around Rp1.2 million remains affordable for her family, as she and her husband are still able to cover their daily needs and the education costs of their two children.
“I hope there will be more programs like this in the future. This helps people like us who want to own a home but cannot afford to pay in cash. I also hope the President stays healthy, because he is helping us, the ordinary people, who struggle just to make ends meet every day,” she said.,
The Government’s financing program benefits not only homebuyers but also businesses in the housing sector.
Muji Marjoko, a housing contractor who received financing through KUR form Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) said the additional capital has significantly increased his business capacity.
“Previously, when we built housing, we could construct a maximum of four to five houses, but now, with this housing credit program, we can build more than ten, or even fifteen, at one time. It is also very helpful for housing demolition work. The additional capital for our contracting business has certainly been a huge help,” he said.
Muji noted that his KUR application was processed quickly, taking only two to three days from submission to disbursement. The additional capital, he said, has greatly helped expand his business capacity and supported the construction of more homes for the community.
