LONDON, April 2 (Reuters) – British lenders approved
60,383 mortgages for house purchase in February, up from 56,087
the month before and the highest number since September 2022,
Bank of England data showed on Tuesday.
Economists polled by Reuters had forecast a median 56,500
approvals.
Consumer credit grew at an annual rate of 8.7%, down from
9.0% in January.
