Firefighters were called to a city centre property in York this afternoon.
They went to the incident on Market Street at 4.22pm.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Acomb’s appliance was mobilised to a commercial building due to the electricity blowing and the first floor filling with the smell of smoke.
“After a thorough investigation, no fire was found. Advice was given to contact an electrician due to a potential electrical fault in the building.”
