BCP Council released a resident discount card on July 27, which is designed to support residents with daily savings and promote the use of local services and businesses.
Benefits include reduced parking, free monthly swimming, discounted food and drink at council cafes, and savings on leisure activities such as climbing and zip-lining.
The council has said more than 2,000 residents have signed up and 36 businesses are offering discounts.
Cllr Millie Earl, leader of BCP Council, said: “The early response we’ve had to the launch of BCP LIFE has been absolutely fantastic and I’m delighted that the offering is going from strength to strength as businesses continue to come on board.
“We launched the card with a simple aim to back the communities that make Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole such a special place to live and it is fantastic to see so many people supporting that vision.
“This has been a tremendous effort behind the scenes to get BCP LIFE up and running and it is great to see the scheme being embraced so warmly by our communities.”
BCP LIFE has been funded through the Government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), alongside matched council funding.
UKSPF grants are ringfenced for projects that drive economic growth and BCP LIFE is one of a number of initiatives that the council has been able to introduce through funding allocations.
The card offers discounts on services that residents already use, from cheaper parking and free swimming to savings on high-street stores and family activities.
As the scheme progresses, it is expected that more businesses will join.
The council has said that a resident who uses the free swim offer and one of the eligible car parks once a month could save more than £80 per year.
