The Department of Defense’s Personal Property Activity launched a new website on Friday that creates a “centralized digital hub” for personnel and industry partners in the process of moving.
The website (www.ppa.mil) has step-by-step moving guidance and instructions, plus information on permanent change-of-station moves, shipping privately owned vehicles and other resources, according to a DOD news release about the launch.
It also has a “centralized library of printable tools and guides,” the department said. The site is intended to supplement Military One Source, which will continue to have information related to moving.
The site also contains an industry and government resource center aimed at keeping vendors and government officials updated on the latest rules and guidance.
Users are encouraged to provide feedback, the release said.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth in January announced the establishment of Personal Property Activity, turning the permanent change of station task force into a permanent, joint activity to reform how the department manages moves.
Before the formation of the task force, permanent change of station was managed through U.S. Transportation Command.
