Back and forth temperatures have been nature’s game lately. We chipped away at the chill today with temperatures climbing back to the 40s and 50s.

Another chilly blast works through into Monday. Tonight, temps will fall to the teens and 20s.

A band of snow will develop over Western Kansas overnight and slowly spread east.

It may make it as far east as western Kingman and Harper counties on Monday before subsiding by the afternoon.

Snowfall accumulations look light from a trace to an inch with upwards of 2″ near the Colorado state line, west of Garden City. Some roads tomorrow morning over Southwest Kansas may be a bit slick.

Another piece of Arctic air will settle south on Monday, resetting highs to the 30s. It is a glancing blow, and we will be able to recover closer to average on Tuesday.

There will be a few more cold fronts this week. One by Wednesday looks to come through dry. There will be a more significant piece of Arctic air later this week that will impact us for the following weekend. Some moisture may travel far enough north.

We will need to watch how much is available as it interacts with this incoming frigid air. Parts of southern Kansas may be able to catch some snow. This is still several days down the road, and we will fine-tune the features as we get closer. Next weekend looks downright frigid with temps staying below freezing.
