The cost of borrowing has risen significantly for landlords, as average mortgage rates surged since the start of the month, a financial comparison firm found. Data from Moneyfacts showed that the average two-year fixed buy-to-let (BTL) mortgage rate rose to 5.29% by 26 March, the highest for a year.
