Milton Keynes has been ranked among the top five most ungrateful cities in the country, based on searches for thank you cards.
Research from printer and envelope maker Baddeley Brothers analysed the number of monthly Google searches for thank you card related terms across 35 UK cities.
Milton Keynes placed fourth among ungrateful cities with an average of 131 monthly searches per 100,000 residents.
Nottingham was ranked as the most ungrateful city with an average of 88 monthly searches, followed by Cambridge in second with 91, and Leicester in third with 110.
Bristol took the title of the UK’s kindest city, recording 374 searches per 100,000 people each month for thank you card terms.
The research found that Bristol residents made an average of 1,589 monthly searches overall, with the most searched terms being ‘thank you cards’, ‘thank u card’ and ‘wedding thank you cards.’
For the research, search volumes for the 12 months from June 2025 to May 2026 for each of the UK’s 50 most populated towns and cities were used.
Commenting on the findings, director at Baddeley Brothers Charles Pertwee said: “Our research reveals some striking differences in search behaviour for cities that are geographically close to one another.”
