STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. (7News) — Three New York men are facing multiple charges after deputies investigated a possible bank fraud attempt in Stafford County, Virginia, involving fake IDs and stolen credit cards.
According to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO), deputies were alerted around 3:12 p.m. on June 25 to a potential fraud attempt at the Bank of America in Stafford Marketplace.
When deputies made contact, three people were detained. The sheriff’s office said one of them, identified as Anthony Linen, 19, of the Bronx, N.Y., falsely identified himself to deputies, resulting in additional charges.

Investigators said false IDs and credit cards were found inside a vehicle and in the nearby area.
Detectives found that the alleged scammers had forged identification cards and stolen credit cards belonging to real people, according to the sheriff’s office.
The sheriff’s office said the men tried to get a significant amount of money using false IDs and stolen credit cards. Investigators also said the men had previously withdrawn money and gotten cashier’s checks.
The trio was taken to Rappahannock Regional Jail.

Linen is facing charges of false identification to law enforcement, unauthorized possession of two or more credit cards, credit card theft, obtaining money by false pretenses, conspiracy to commit uttering, conspiracy to commit credit card theft, possessing a fictitious operator’s license, identity theft, and uttering.

Victor Tristan Lyle, 21, also of the Bronx, N.Y., is facing charges of failure to appear on a felony charge, unauthorized posesssion of two or more credit cards, obtaining money by false pretenses, conspiracy to obtain money by false pretenses, possessing a fictitious operator’s license, credit card theft, conspiracy to commit credit card theft, uttering, conspiracy to committ uttering, and identity theft.

Donald Taylor, 39, of Elmira, N.Y., is facing charges of unauthorized possession of two or more credit cards, obtaining money by false pretenses, conspiracy to obtain money by false pretenses, conspiracy to commit credit card theft, credit card theft, possessing a fictitious operator’s license, uttering, conspiracy to commit uttering, and identity theft.

All three were held without bond.
