Flint Bishop has appointed Zarvin Vandrewala as partner and joint head of finance dispute resolution as the law firm expands its banking and finance recoveries practice.
National law firm Flint Bishop has appointed banking and finance litigation specialist Zarvin Vandrewala as partner and joint head of finance dispute resolution as it looks to strengthen its position in the financial services sector.
Vandrewala joins from Aberdein Considine, where he was a partner advising financial services clients on a range of contentious matters. He brings more than 14 years’ experience acting for banks, financial institutions and commercial organisations on complex litigation and recoveries work. In his new role, he will work alongside Kate Hicks, joint head of finance dispute resolution, helping to lead the team and support further growth across the firm’s client base.
His appointment follows senior leadership roles at Ascent Performance Group and BW Legal, having trained and qualified at Irwin Mitchell in 2012. Flint Bishop said the move forms part of its continued investment in its financial services disputes offering as demand from lenders and financial institutions remains strong.
Zarvin Vandrewala, partner and joint head of finance dispute resolution at Flint Bishop, said: “Flint Bishop’s ambition, projected growth and clear vision for the future were key factors in my decision to join the firm. The investment in innovation, technology and people is impressive, and it’s clear the business has strong momentum.
“Throughout my career, one of the most rewarding aspects of my role has been supporting colleagues to develop their skills, progress their careers and achieve their personal ambitions. I’m looking forward to working with Kate and the wider team as we continue to build on this success, while creating opportunities for our people to grow and thrive.”
Qamer Ghafoor, chief executive at Flint Bishop, said: “Zarvin is a standout addition to the business. His experience of leading teams, combined with his operational and strategic expertise, will be instrumental as we continue to scale our finance litigation offering and meet increasing client demand.” The firm said the appointment supports its wider growth strategy in Leeds and across its national platform as it continues to invest in senior talent and expand its financial services capability.
