LA PINE, Ore. — A Midstate Electric truck crashed into a power pole Monday morning in La Pine, sending the vehicle through a fence and onto private property and temporarily closing nearby roads, according to the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said they responded at about 10:51 a.m. Monday, Aug. 17, to a single-vehicle crash on Finley Butte Road. Investigators said the driver of a Midstate Electric truck hit a power pole and went through a fence onto private property.
The male driver was the only person inside the Ford F-150 at the time of the crash. He was taken to St. Charles–Bend by the La Pine Rural Fire Protection District with minor injuries. Deputies said no other vehicles were involved and no other injuries were reported. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors.
Portions of Finley Butte Road and Wheeler Road were closed for several hours while deputies investigated and Mid State Electric crews assessed the damage and ensured the safety of the neighborhood. All roads have since reopened, but deputies asked people to be cautious as Midstate Electric crews continue working in the area.
The crash remains under investigation.
