
Intel’s Alex Katuzian stated that GPUs remain a crucial part of the company’s PC lineup. Speaking to the press in Taiwan, the CEO of Intel’s client systems division reaffirmed his commitment to continuing the development of the Arc architecture. He stated that the cores GPU are demonstrating excellent results, and the company is actively collaborating with gamers and game engine developers. It was previously speculated that Intel might abandon discrete desktop graphics cards after the release of the Arc B580 and B570 models.
Intel’s current strategy has shifted toward integrated and mobile graphics. The company has already introduced the Arc G3 and Arc G3 processors. Extreme for portable gaming consoles, and the upcoming Panther Lake mobile processors will also feature new integrated graphics. The fate of the flagship Arc B770 desktop graphics card remains uncertain. While this product was initially expected to hit the market, Intel has limited the model to the professional segment, and new information suggests the project may be cancelled entirely.
The future of Intel’s high-performance discrete gaming solutions looks uncertain. In the high-end desktop PC segment, there is still no direct successor or more powerful alternative to the current Battlemage models. Moreover, according to rumors, the company has no plans to develop gaming graphics cards based on the upcoming Xe3p architecture. If this information is confirmed, users may be left without new discrete Intel graphics accelerators for desktops and laptops for a long time.
