We want you to have the best information available when you price cards on the TCGplayer Marketplace. So to help you get the most from your inventory, we’ve put together a downloadable CSV report of Magic: The Gathering cards that have dramatically increased in Market Price in the past 30 days.
(Note: This report only considers Near Mint copies of cards with at least ten sales between March 21 and April 19, 2026.)
Here are ten highlights from that report. First, we have the five cards that gained the most value in the past 30 days after starting with a Market Price of $40 or less.
Top 5 Price Increases—MTG Cards $40 or Less
- Set: Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur’s Gate
- Printing: Foil
- Increase: +$23.32
- Current Market Price: $55.46
Every version of Displacer Kitten spiked dramatically in the past month as we approached the release of Secrets of Strixhaven on April 24. The kitten’s Avoidance ability naturally combos with all of the new creatures that enter “prepared,” by flickering the creature every time you cast its prepared instant or sorcery. Among other things, this lets players spam Ancestral Recall with Emeritus of Ideation, or generate infinite mana with Blazing Firesinger.
- Set: Secret Lair Drop Series
- Increase: +$23.88
- Current Market Price: $62.34
Just in time for the card to top every magician’s must-buy list, Wizards of the Coast released a new version of Displacer Kitten in the Roll for Initiative Superdrop. While preorders started in March around $40, the demand from players wiped out all the listings below $55 before the Secret Lair even began shipping on April 20.
- Set: Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur’s Gate
- Increase: +$27.55
- Current Market Price: $55.39
Nonfoil copies of Displacer Kitten have spiked just as hard as the foil copies, for the same reason.
#2 Plaguebearer
- Set: Exodus
- Increase: +$28.95
- Current Market Price: $34.34
Last month we covered how cards like Yavimaya Coast and Firestorm were spiking as more players discovered Premodern, the stubbornly old-school format that was introduced to Magic Online in December 2025. That wasn’t the end of the story. Even more cards have been seeing their first price movement in ages, now that they finally have a format where they can shine. One of those is Plaguebearer, which sees play as a sideboard option in mono-black attrition decks.
#1 Misdirection
- Set: Secret Lair Drop Series
- Increase: +$37.05
- Current Market Price: $74.10
This Secret Lair version of the high-power Commander staple Misdirection doesn’t have a special reason to be spiking right now. Its low-cost listings have simply dried up in the past month, leaving just 10 Near Mint copies on the marketplace, all of which are over $80 once you add shipping.
Next, these are the five cards that gained the most value in the past 30 days after starting with a Market Price over $10.
Top 5 Price Increases—MTG Cards Over $40
#5 Mox Opal
- Set: Masterpiece Series: Kaladesh Inventions
- Increase: +$111.69
- Current Market Price: $753.89
WotC released the Kaladesh Inventions subset alongside the original Kaladesh set back in 2016 as one of the game’s very first experiments with including alternate-art reprints being in regular Magic sets.
Masterpiece Series cards were exceptionally rare, so the supply of them has always been low, and they don’t sell often. Because of that, two buyers were able to exert disproportionate pressure on this card’s price when they bought four copies at once on February 7 and March 1. In a bit of a delayed reaction, Mox Opal’s Market Price only really started to spike in mid-March, and it’s still trending up now that the lowest Near Mint listing at time of writing is for $1,139.99.
#4 Mox Diamond
- Set: Stronghold
- Increase: +$117.70
- Current Market Price: $1,059.26
Back for a second month among the biggest gainers, this Reserved List card sees play in Premodern decks that run Armageddon for that old-school thrill of stopping your opponent from playing Magic.
#3 Super Shredder (Borderless)
- Set: Unique and Miscellaneous Promos
- Printing: Foil
- Increase: +$121.49
- Current Market Price: $1,053.37
The foil version of the Super Shredder borderless promo card was awarded to the top 128 players at Magic Spotlight: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, held on March 7, 2026 at SCG CON in Richmond. That obviously makes the card scarce, and sellers have been able to name their price. While a few copies sold in the $900 range in the beginning of March, at time of writing, the only Near Mint copy left is listed for $2,000 even.
- Set: Judge Promos
- Increase: +$156.03
- Current Market Price: $2,063.83
This Reserved List card picked up another 7% in value this month. The Reserved List in general has been having a moment in 2026, with cards like Gaea’s Cradle, Lion’s Eye Diamond, and Deranged Hermit all showing double-digit growth since the start of the year. That trend has extended to Wheel of Fortune, which started 2026 at $1,650 and at time of writing is down to three copies listed at $3,999.99 or more.
#1 Intuition
- Set: Judge Promos
- Increase: +$334.27
- Current Market Price: $1,331.90
The same trend has affected Intuition. The last Near Mint copy of this Reserved List promo card on TCGplayer sold on April 19 for $1,699.99.
