Translink Corporate Finance UK partner Hamish Morrison has been appointed to the global board of international M&A advisory firm Translink Corporate Finance.
The appointment was said to reflect the increasing importance of international collaboration in today’s M&A market, with more businesses seeking overseas buyers, investors and acquisition opportunities to support their growth ambitions.
Morrison’s new role will involve working with the other board members to help to shape the strategic direction of the firm and deliver on the future growth plans for both the UK and the other overseas offices.
He brings more than 20 years of corporate finance experience to the board and has established a reputation for delivering outstanding results for clients while providing innovative solutions to complex challenges.
Having also sold a business in which he was a shareholder, Morrison is able to directly relate to the range of emotions clients experience throughout a deal process.
His presence has proven pivotal in a significant number of transactions, including high-profile sell-side deals, debt-only and private equity-backed management buy-outs, and acquisition support for both corporate acquirers and private equity houses.
The appointment comes at a time when the corporate finance team is seeing an ever-increasing strong pipeline of ambitious and internationally minded businesses, with demand for cross-border M&A advice growing across a range of sectors.
Hamish Morrison said: “I am excited to join the executive team and help drive even greater volumes of deals, while ensuring we continue to use our strong relationships across Yorkshire and the wider UK, alongside our global capabilities, to deliver outstanding results for our clients.
“In a world that is changing rapidly due to technology and AI, and where economic shocks have become the norm, it is an honour to join the Board and help ensure the strategic direction of the business continues to meet the needs of our clients, both today and in the future.”
Many of Hamish’s clients have built long-term relationships with him and value not only his deal expertise, but also his wider commercial and strategic advice.
He added: “Since Translink Corporate Finance UK became a shareholder in Translink Corporate Finance more than six years ago, we have been fortunate to build many strong business and personal relationships with our fellow dealmakers around the world.
“These relationships ensure that, on every deal, our clients have seamless access to sector and country-focused dealmakers across the globe through their local deal teams. This approach consistently enables us to deliver results that would otherwise not be possible.”
Leandro Rosado, Translink Corporate Finance CEO, added: “Hamish is a standout member of the group.
“His track record speaks for itself, but what sets him apart is his ability to combine deep technical expertise with a broad strategic perspective, exactly the profile we want at Board level.
“In a world where cross-border M&A demands both local relationships and global execution, having someone of Hamish’s calibre helping to shape our strategic direction makes us stronger as a Group.
“I have long admired both his professionalism and his character, having him at the Board table is a real pleasure.”
Translink Corporate Finance was one of the first investment banking boutiques to execute cross-border M&A transactions both across Europe and between Europe and the US. Having been a leader in this field since 1972, the business has continually evolved over the past five decades.
