Red Sea Global Becomes World’s Largest LEED Platinum Hotel Developer – News and Statistics

Red Sea Global has achieved a new milestone in sustainable hospitality, becoming the world’s largest developer of LEED Platinum-certified hotels and resorts. This follows the certification of five additional properties on Shura Island at The Red Sea destination, which received the highest sustainability rating under the LEED v4 BD+C: Hospitality system, according to TradeArabia News Service.

The achievement brings the total number of certified resorts to 10, encompassing 1,207 hotel keys across 236,405 square metres. The newly certified resorts operate entirely on renewable energy and incorporate energy-efficient designs along with low-impact materials.

Six more resorts on Shura Island are currently progressing toward LEED certification, underscoring Red Sea Global’s commitment to regenerative tourism and sustainable development. Kai Dieckmann, General Manager of Four Seasons Resort and Residences Red Sea at Shura Island, commented that the resort’s receipt of LEED Platinum certification reflects its dedication to combining luxury with sustainability while supporting the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. He noted that this aligns with Red Sea Global’s approach focused on people and the planet, and that sustainability is a core element in the resort’s design, operations, and future vision.
